SMARTWATCH OVERHAUL
The Sony SmartWatch SW2 appears to bare little resemblance to its predecessor (under the hood anyway). While it costs considerably more than the SW1, it also has more battery life, a bigger display, and offers NFC (Near field communication).
The Sony SW2 also charges via the standard microUSB, instead of the proprietary / nonstandard that the SW1 utilized. It also auto-adjusts to the time on your smartphone, has aluminum body (previous Sony Smartphone had a plastic body), and is reportedly easier to see in daylight conditions. New to this version, the phone will alert you if you leave it somewhere (e.g. head home from work and leave it at the office.
You will still need your phone to call people, but if you have a Bluetooth device, you can initiate calls from the watch and then take the call via Bluetooth. And while the overall viewing experience is …small, you can even browse the internet via the phone (you will need to purchase an app to do this via the Google Play Store, but it is possible).
